Overland plans primary storage acquisition According to comments by Overland Storage Inc. president and CEO Christopher Calisi, tape- and disk-based backup appliance manufacturer Overland plans to acquire a primary storage vendor. An announcement on the acquisition is planned on or before Aug. 15, the date of its fiscal 2005 financial report.

Brocade slips for second consecutive quarter Shares of Brocade Communications Systems Inc. fell nearly 12% Wednesday after the network equipment supplier warned it would report a loss in the third quarter and that revenue would fall well short of its forecast. Brocade has missed its guidance for the second quarter in a row, with preliminary results showing revenue down by around 20% year-on-year.
