Dell resells EMC NAS gateway
Taking aim at Network Appliance Inc. (NetApp), Dell announced it will resell EMC's NS500G NAS gateway that allows file-level data from heterogeneous servers to be stored on an EMC Corp. SAN. Dell will begin shipping the gateway as soon as May. The move is the latest in a fierce battle between IBM and NetApp and EMC for the lion's share of the midmarket NAS arena. IBM recently announced its intention to OEM all of NetApp's product line.

Zetta launches channel program
Zetta Systems Inc., a developer of continuous data protection software for e-mail and database applications, launched its IR2 (Instant Recovery Reseller) channel program. IR2 will provide resellers with Web-based sales tools, product demonstrations and training, field-based presales support, a dedicated Zetta account manager, lead generation and deal registration.

StorageTek picks mainframe connectivity supplier
Storage Technology Corp. (StorageTek) announced that Bus-Tech Inc., a supplier of mainframe connectivity products, has joined it partner program. Bus-Tech's technology will allow users to connect mainframe systems to StorageTek's FlexLine ATA-based storage arrays, providing a cheaper alternative to traditional mainframe storage.
