EMC resells Brocade 4 Gbps switch EMC announced the availability of its Connectrix DS-4100B SAN switch, based on Brocade's 4 Gbps SilkWorm 4100 family. The new switch is available in a base 16-port configuration that can be scaled with eight-port upgrade licenses to 24 and 32 ports. It can act as the core switch in a growing fabric, and for large enterprise applications can feed data from the edge to a larger SAN director.
Sierra Logic builds FC to SATA bridge
Chip provider Sierra Logic announced a new family of Fibre Channel (FC) to SATA silicon storage bridges to go along with its silicon storage router. With the BR-2401 bridge, SATA drives can be mixed with FC disk drives within a storage system. The bridges emulate FC disk drives for high-performance storage at a low cost.
Sepaton expands to China
Sepaton Inc., a provider of data protection appliances, announced that Beijing GrandRole Science & Technology Development Co. LTD, a systems integration and computer software development company in China, has signed an agreement to resell Sepaton's data protection products throughout the country. Several businesses have already purchased the Sepaton S2100 Virtual Tape Library system, including China Life Insurance Co. The S2100 is a RAID-based data protection appliance that provides backup/restore speeds up to 10 times faster than tape systems, said Sepaton.

XOsoft unveils content distribution software
XOsoft announced that it has made additions to its WANSync suite of replication software products with WANSyncCD, which is software that distributes and consolidates content among branch offices. Based on the WANSync platform, WANSyncCD uses replication technology to provide real-time updates of corporate information, allows collaboration between branch offices and consolidates data from different locations for centralized backup.
