Tek-Tools enhances Profiler Rx suite
Tek-Tools, Inc., a provider of storage/server/backup management software, announced the availability of the beta version of its Extensible Agent Architecture and built-in policy engine for its Profiler Rx suite. With the Extensible Agent, storage managers can use Profiler Rx's interface to write their own modules and launch them from the Profiler Rx console, providing a customized approach to active storage management. For OEMs and solution providers, the Extensible Agent is a simple way to develop automation and management for ILM, provisioning and backup/database/Exchange administration.

Maxxan gets $29M in funding
Maxxan Systems, Inc. announced that it has received an additional $29 million in venture funding led by BA Venture Partners, bringing the total secured financing in the company to $113 million since its incorporation in 2000. Other investors included US Venture Partners , Venrock Associates, China Development Industrial Bank, Inc. and Inventec Corporation.

nStor expands OEM relationship with NEC
nStor Corporation, Inc., developer of storage-network products, announced an expanded OEM agreement with NEC Corporation. Under the terms of the extended pact, NEC will now incorporate the NexStor 4711S serial ATA storage system into its existing line-up of NexStor midrange Fibre Channel storage systems.

MetroDataPath adds Maranti's CoreStor to its portfolio
Maranti, a storage switch provider announced that MetroDataPath has deployed its CoreSTOR network storage controllers as part of a managed services portfolio. As part of this deployment, Maranti partnered with Nexsan Technologies to deliver configurations that support MetroDataPath's continuous data protection and storage on demand services. These services, which are available in the southern California market, address regulatory, disaster recovery and data lifecycle management issues.

Isilon names Ruckelshaus to board of directors
Isilon Systems, a provider of intelligent clustered storage for digital content, announced the appointment of William D. Ruckelshaus to its board of directors. Ruckelshaus previously served as chairman and CEO of Browning-Ferris Industries, acting director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, founding administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency and Deputy Attorney General of the U.S. Department of Justice.
