Engenio and AppIQ join for SAN management Engenio Information Technologies Inc., a provider of storage systems for the open enterprise, and AppIQ, Inc., a provider of storage management software, announced that the two companies have forged an OEM deal to provide better management of a storage area network. The two companies said the OEM partnership will give IT professionals real-time and historical information on the entire SAN infrastructure, from host server to storage system. With the deal, AppIQ will gain another top-tier OEM distribution channel through Engenio's OEM partners, and Engenio will add AppIQ's storage management software -- which provides a birds-eye view of multi-vendor SANs -- to its portfolio.
SunGard to acquire Inflow SunGard Availability Services, an operating group of SunGard, announced today that it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire the Denver-based application, network and datacenter management company, Inflow Inc. The merger is expected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2005. There will be few operational changes as Inflow's team will continue its Denver network operations center and IDC operations in its existing 14 data centers. SunGard Availability Services has a portfolio of managed IT, business continuity and professional services, and more than 10,000 clients in North America and Europe.

The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, also known as SOX, requires CEOs and CFOs of publicly traded companies to attest to the validity of their companies' financial data and verify that adequate controls are in place to protect that data's integrity as it flows through IT systems on its way to corporate financial reports. StorCase offers pre-integrated hard drives StorCase Technology, provider of storage enclosures, announced that its InfoStation and other RAID and JBOD enclosures are now available with an option for pre-integrated hard drives. To support the search for simplification, StorCase now offers drive integration as an included service, allowing users to select either partially or fully populated enclosures. According to StorCase, the advantage of enclosures with pre-integrated drives is the assurance of drive compatibility. All integrated hard drives are pre-tested for reliability and performance within the StorCase enclosure.
