Big SATA drives get cheaper

In the hard drive categories we track, pricing for 146GB SCSI drives jumped by almost 8%, while the cost of both 750GB and 1TB SATA drives dropped. In addition, 73GB SCSI drives fell once again--registering at $266--after a brief revival in February. The cost of LTO-2 tape drives climbed by almost 8% to $2,858. LTO-3 tape drive prices had declined over the past six months, but have stayed steady recently at $2,694. In the media categories we track, both Super DLT I and II tape prices rose this month.
