Quantum DXi7500: First disk-based backup system that offers the choice of inline or postprocessing deduplication. Users can set up policies dictating which type of deduplication to perform depending on the needs of any given backup job. The DXi7500 scales to 240TB and an aggregate throughput as high as 8TB/hour, according to Quantum. It can be presented as a NAS mountpoint or as a virtual tape library with Fibre Channel or iSCSI connectivity. The DXi7500 is expected to ship this fall.

Exanet ExaSearch: First search engine to be integrated with a clustered NAS product. ExaSearch integrates with the company's ExaStore clustered NAS software, so users can find information in large sets of data in real time. The search engine finds data, including newly generated content, from multiple sources such as file servers, email systems, databases and employee directories. ExaSearch is available now; pricing varies based on storage capacity purchased.
