DLT-S4 drive prices jump

Hard drive prices didn't make big moves this month, with only small upticks in pricing for 73GB and 146GB drives. In the tape drive categories we track, prices remained fairly steady with the exception of DLT-S4 drives, which rose slightly more than 10% to $2,878 (still below its mid-2007 price). Among media, LTO-2 cartridges had the biggest gain in price, going up nearly 7% to $45. LTO-3 media prices rose by a little less than 5% to $65, while LTO-4 prices increased to $128. Super DLTtape I dropped by approximately 4% to a six-month low of $46.

*This month, we've added 750GB SATA, 1TB SATA and 300GB SAS disk drives, as well as LTO-4 tape drives, to the Real Deal.
