Non-LTO tape drives get pricier
Prices for hard disk drives fell last month in each of the categories we track. The 250GB 7,200 rpm SATA drive wound up taking the biggest hit, slipping 3.61% to $80. In the tape drive category, prices for LTO dropped only slightly, while pricing for the SDLT 320 and SDLT 600 rose by an impressive 6.17% and 2.34%, respectively. For the first time since June, DLT-S4 tape drives pushed above the $3,000 mark by jumping 2.34% to $3,052. In media, LTO-1 and LTO-2 showed big dips in pricing. LTO-1 headed downward by $3 to $36 and LTO-2 sunk by $5 to $43 this month.
