Path to a dream job
If you have any doubts about the viability of a storage career, or the value of SAN experience, Kim Greene's career path should convince you otherwise. The 36-year-old went from a contract worker and SAN project director to his dream job as the lead storage professional at Paramount Pictures, Hollywood, CA.

"Of course it's great to have a better salary," says Greene. "But I love it [working on storage] because it's always a challenge and never boring." Like 72.9% of our survey respondents, Greene has more than 10 years of IT experience. In the last 36 months, though, Greene has discovered his passion and talent for SAN configuration and design. Currently studying for his Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert certification, Greene is now a self-described storage geek.
