While storage managers continue to store their backup tapes offsite for disaster recovery (DR) purposes, more of them are moving beyond tape, according to Storage magazine's spring 2007 Purchasing Intentions Survey. Forty-two percent of respondents indicate that they're planning to increase spending on remote mirroring for DR this year vs. their spending in 2006. Tape remains popular, with approximately 76% of respondents indicating that their tape spending will stay the same or increase vs. last year's spending.
