Disk drive prices drop

Looks like it's the perfect time to buy disk drives--all three of the drives we track fell to their lowest prices since last summer. The 15,000 rpm 73GB Cheetah dropped by 3.65% after a brief bump up last month, while the 10,000 rpm 146GB Cheetah fell slightly to $270; the 7,200 rpm 250GB SATA took the biggest fall by almost 8% to $84. Elsewhere, LTO-3 tape drives tumbled approximately 7.5%, while tape media held more or less steady.
