10K SCSI prices continue to fall

The price of Seagate's 146GB 10,000 rpm disk drive has been slowly but surely slipping over the last five months, this time dropping very slightly to $369. Meanwhile, LTO-2 and LTO-3 tape drives continue to move on different paths: LTO-2 inched up 2.3% to $3,474 as the price of the LTO-3 drive we track tumbled for the second month by another 3.1% to $3,254. By contrast, LTO-2 media escalated 4.5% to $46, while LTO-3 rose 5.2% to $81.
