LTO-3 drive price drop--false alarm
Reacting to Quantum's new DLT-S4 drive, LTO-3 drive pricing fell by more than 10% in July. Sanity has prevailed this month, and LTO-3 drive pricing has almost recouped its losses. DLT-S4 drive pricing has also increased, jumping nearly 9% to an average price of $4,219. High-performance disk drive prices, meanwhile, showed almost no movement at all, while SATA drives fell a modest 2%.
