In a recent study by TheInfoPro (TIP), storage professionals were asked what they were paying per Fibre Channel (FC) port. FC's price per port and associated host bus adapter (HBA) costs have surfaced as a major pain point. Some respondents to the TIP survey feel these expenses may accelerate the adoption of IP-based storage area networks (SANs).
