No big surprises here. The top three reasons Storage readers buy new storage are technology-related: more capacity, performance and connectivity. The desire for additional features (e.g., remote replication capabilities or wider platform support) also drives storage purchases, but business issues are less influential factors. The survey also shows that Storage readers are a fairly loyal bunch--the last time they made a new storage purchase, a sizeable majority (63%) stuck with the same vendor that sold them their last system.
