36GB Drive Prices Show Staying Power
High-performance 36GB drives have shown remarkably little price movement over the past six months, only dropping 4.3% since last February. In comparison, the other disk drives we track have dropped an average of 15.1% since that same time. Serial ATA drives again showed the biggest price drop for the month, 5.3%, and now average just $1 more than traditional ATA drives. Will next month be the tipping point?
Supply for SDLT-II media seems to have stabilized--more online vendors were peddling the tapes this month, and its price consequently dropped back down to May levels.
