Would You Buy a 4Gb/s Fibre Channel Switch?

What speed are your Fibre Channel switches today?
Does your current Fibre Channel fabric meet your performance needs?
For your next switch purchase, would you rather buy:

This month, we asked Storage magazine readers about their purchasing intentions for 4Gb/s switches, which QLogic has added to its roadmap. Thirty percent of readers say they will purchase their next switches with 10Gb/s connectivity, due out in 2004--ignoring 4Gb/s altogether. As one reader put it, it's "best to upgrade to the highest whenever an upgrade is available in the industry." At the same time though, many readers simply don't feel the need for that kind of speed--an overwhelming majority (86%) of respondents say that current Fibre Channel fabrics meet their performance needs. "I feel the jump from 2Gb to 10Gb is too big. I would be open to 4Gb to 6Gb even," wrote one reader.
