In February, disk drives across all categories saw small--but significant--drops in pricing. Tape drives, on the other hand, were less consistent. Whereas SDLT 220 drives actually posted a small price increase, SDLT 320 drives dropped by 5.67%, and first generation LTO drives dropped a full 12%, as manufacturers get set to ship drives based on LTO-2. SDLT and LTO media tracked the drops of their respective drives, although less dramatically. We'd also like to note that prices gathered from online sources don't reflect tax or shipping costs.
