| Storage capacity has jumped, according to Wave 8 of TheInfoPro's Storage Study survey of Fortune 1000 storage professionals. Difficulties in implementing archiving applications have allowed data to grow from a rate of 6% to 20%. In addition, more companies are putting disaster recovery into play, which has tripled the offsite data replication growth rate from 7% to 21% since the last survey. The mandate to hold on to more data for longer periods of time and the need for redundant systems while consolidating storage are also contributing to data growth.
