| The majority of Fortune 1000 companies (63%) have at least 1,000 tapes offsite, according to Wave 7 of TheInfoPro Storage Study. This should come as no surprise given the rapid data growth and retention issues storage managers currently contend with. But as tape volumes increase, so does the time and effort it takes to manage them, which in the long run may further the appeal of virtual tape libraries.
