Survey Says: Features, familiar vendors are key to storage purchases

Storage managers generally buy products based on what they already use, according to Storage magazine's spring 2007 Purchasing Intentions survey. Respondents ranked product features as the top priority across five categories (primary storage, tape backup hardware, switches, backup software and storage management software). But "They supply other key technology to the company" took second in three of the categories, including tape backup hardware, backup software and storage management software.
