Survey Says: Deduplication, VTL top wish list


Data deduplication and virtual tape libraries headed the list of top 10 storage networking technologies being considered, according to TheInfoPro's Wave 10 Storage Study. The research firm compiled the results through interviews with storage professionals, measuring budget dollars against technology implementation plans. "Backup is getting out of control," says Robert Stevenson, TheInfoPro's managing director of storage. "The [top] technologies are related to people redesigning or refreshing their backup environments. The primary motivator is trying to minimize tape growth."
