More Storage readers are adopting iSCSI vs. our last Snapshot iSCSI survey; 44% of respondents now indicate they're using it vs. 33% of respondents last November. Thirty-four percent are either testing or researching it, with an additional 13% planning to have iSCSI implemented by the end of 2008. But there are still some questions about iSCSI storage on several fronts, including performance, cost effectiveness and its ability to integrate with the rest of the storage environment. Of the respondents who indicate they're testing or researching iSCSI (6% and 28%, respectively) and those who definitely won't implement iSCSI (9%), 51% say they'd rather expand their Fibre Channel (FC) SAN, while 47% say it doesn't fix any problems they're having with their storage. Another 41% say they still don't think iSCSI's performance will meet their requirements.
