Snapshot: More shops add data classification tools

As companies look to archiving technologies to help meet legal discovery requests and compliance deadlines, data classification is getting more attention from users. In this month's survey, 74% of storage managers indicate they have either deployed or have definite plans to deploy one or more data classification tools within the next 24 months. But the majority find that data classification isn't so simple; 71% of respondents cite the development of classification policies as their greatest challenge. In addition, several users commented on the lack of automation and standardization available, while others indicate they haven't been able to justify the cost of adding data classification.
