Here are the six finalists in the storage network equipment category for the 2007 Products of the Year competition. They are listed alphabetically by vendor.

Emulex
LightPulse 8Gb/s Fibre Channel HBAs

Emulex LightPulse 8Gb/sec Fibre Channel HBAs are designed for security, data integrity and virtualization, while maintaining backward-compatibility with existing 4Gb/sec and 2Gb/sec Fibre Channel HBAs.

Qlogic Corp.
8Gb Fibre Channel Storage Network

The QLogic Corp. 8Gb Fibre Channel Storage Network consists of SANblade 2500 Series 8Gb/sec Fibre Channel HBAs and SANbox 5000 Series Stackable 8Gb/sec Fibre Channel Switches. The faster switches and HBAs are fully backward-compatible with the large installed base of 4Gb/sec and 2Gb/sec Fibre Channel products.

Riverbed Technology
The Riverbed Optimization System (RiOS) 4.0

Riverbed Technology released a major upgrade to its Steelhead wide-area data services appliances and Riverbed Optimization System (RiOS) 4. 0 OS. The upgrades enhance the security and scalability of data transfers between branch offices and the central data center.

SANRAD
V-Switch 3400

The SANRAD V-switch 3400, with integrated SANRAD StoragePro software, is an open, scalable solution that provides SAN connectivity and storage management for any physical or virtual server. Global Data Replication (GDR) software can be added to provide enterprise-class data replication and site recovery between V-switches located at data centers and/or remote offices connected by any local, metropolitan or wide area IP network.

Storwize
Storwize STN-6000 appliance

The Storwize STN-6000 appliance compresses data to reduce storage capacity by up to five times the uncompressed data.

Xsigo Systems Inc.
VP780 I/O Director

The Xsigo Systems Inc. VP780 I/O Director delivers converged I/O, which means that all servers have access to all LANs and SANs. This is useful in virtualized environments where I/O patterns are frequently changing. The Xsigo VP780 I/O Director creates virtual HBAs and NICS that are deployed to the servers by a simple drag-and-drop operation. Connectivity can be easily moved from one server to another.
