A properly defined storage architecture will give you the ability to justify spending levels for your existing catalog and future provisioning. Once you have gathered your requirements and properly classified your applications you are ready to design your storage tiers. Lesson three of Tiered Storage School assists you in storage tier design. This webcast covers application classification, defining and executing a migration plan and establishing a framework for storage provisioning, reporting and/or charge-back.

About Mike Casey: Mike Casey has more than 20 years experience in storage and high technology. Previously Casey was a storage analyst for Gartner and a compliance officer for a medical device company. He has also held executive and marketing management positions at storage product companies such as Fujitsu, IBM, Shugart and Solid Data Systems. Casey has published numerous articles and papers on storage technology, compliance and data strategy, and has spoken at industry conferences such as Storage Decisions, Storage Networking Word and Gartner Planet Storage. He also serves as an expert on data retention and compliance, responding to reader questions in the Ask the Expert feature on SearchStorage.com. Casey holds a BS in Physics and an MBA, both from Santa Clara University.

About Greg Forest: Greg Forest has more than 20 years experience in storage, application software, programming, management, support and implementation. He has been personally responsible for developing methodologies and work products for a variety of OEM clients to make solution delivery predictable and cost effective.
