Working on availability

(07 Apr 2002)

A SearchStorage user and admittedly 'frustrated engineer' asks high availability expert Evan Marcus to add up the HA numbers. This week's poll:
How will the McData/Brocade lawsuit affect the storage networking industry?

We can just kiss switch interoperability good-bye.
It will make interoperability issues more visible.
It will force users and OEMs to look at other suppliers.
Fibre Channel efforts will be sidelined and iSCSI and InfinBand will move in.
Will help ensure companies take proper steps when wanting to use another company's innovation.
It won't have any affect on the industry.
