Storage industry-standard benchmark announced

A consortium of vendors, including IBM, Sun and Veritas, says it has developed the first industry-standard storage benchmark. According to one analyst, users have been waiting a long time for a reliable score card in which to evaluate products. Is it a panacea? Hardly. But, it is a step in the right direction, he says.
