With nip-and-tuck battles in nearly every rating category, IBM prevails on the Storage magazine/SearchStorage.com Quality Awards users’ service and reliability ratings. Products surveyed With just one top-three finish on the first six Quality Awards for midrange arrays surveys, IBM may be considered a dark-horse winner this time around. But whatever the color of its horse, IBM galloped to victory in the seventh edition of the Quality Awards for midrange arrays by outdistancing the field in four of five rating categories. And it’s a particularly strong field of finalists this time, with a notable overall score of 6.60 -- just 0.03 points off the high mark set a couple of surveys ago. As we’ve seen through the years, user satisfaction with this class of storage system is high and climbing as vendors roll out new products that raise the bar for quality and reliability.
