Copy management system saves storage space, cash

Having a multitude of copies of primary data is a waste of precious storage space, resources and money. It also presents security and compliance risks. A copy management system reduces storage requirements, costs and dangers by enabling rapid and easy access to copy data and greater control over the entire copy data lifecycle.

Caching preserves active copies of data on high-performance media while maintaining primary versions on cheaper disk or flash. With a small amount of cache, you can speed up most I/O requests to improve application performance much more economically than storing all data on expensive fast media.

Veritas and Veeam emerge as the clear winners for this year's backup Quality Awards. They led a combined field of 15 product lines, with Veritas landing in the winner's circle for this first time in four years and upstart Veeam scoring an unprecedented three-peat.
