QUESTION POSED ON: 20 May 2004
We're running a W2K and SQL2K server farm with around 40 database servers under management -- Intel based and working to evaluate high availability software to address single points of failure for our databases.
Can you help me identify vendor choices for helping manage high availability with a failover flavor -- not replication or log shipping?
The vendors/products that we have on our list are PolyServe, Veritas -- don't know much about them yet -- and MSCS. We have reservations about MSCS based on previous bad experiences with a SCSI implementation. We will be going with Fiber/SAN implementation for our next generation of HA servers.
Thanks for any help!
