Given the "newness" of iSCSI and the fact that it has no track record in the market, I would be very hesitant for a customer to piece together a solution. The solution should either be complete from a single vendor or from an integrator that has pre-staged the solution and will guarantee the operation and the performance. If they won't, be wary. After it matures over time, the options will change and there will be less risk for the user.
