Hi Chris,

Is it a must that when you have a 1Gbit HBA, your switch has to be a 1Gbit or can it be a 2Gbit?

Most switch vendors include "auto sensing" ports that will auto negotiate the bandwidth of the path. If using a 2Gbit HBA, it will run at that speed. If using a 1Gbit HBA, the whole path to your storage will negotiate down to run at 1Gbit.
