In a typical data center today do you have any hard line data that shows the percentage of backups stored to tape vs. mirrored to disk?

EXPERT RESPONSE

No, I don't have any authoritative data for that question. However, I can tell you that the percentage of disk over tape is increasing every day.

While almost everyone eventually backs up everything to tape, the number of data centers that are using disk as a staging or intermediate storage device for backups is increasing every day as well.
