What are the requirements for setting up RAID 1? (Drive sizes, types, RMP, etc.)

EXPERT RESPONSE
RAID 1 is the mirroring of two drives. This mirrored pair will have identical data on both drives. Updates to one drive are replicated onto the other drive. With that said, RAID requires that the two drives have the same capacity and format (e.g. two 36GB FBA drives. The RPM of the drive does not affect RAID 1. For the most recent information on RAID, refer to the RAID Advisory Board.
