Do you know what the most popular applications running in NAS environments are? What industries, verticals, applications and usages are the largest NAS users or customers?

It's a matter of volume, but the majority of NAS devices are sold in workgroups and departments for file sharing. Engineering is still probably the largest number of users -- sharing files in many engineering environments. Businesses are rapidly expanding the use of NAS, but more for the simplicity and consolidation than anything else. There are many others but generically engineering is probably the most popular.
