QUESTION POSED ON: 11 January 2005
Are NAS solutions multiple user-friendly? Can five people work against the same NAS-server at the same time?

Absolutely. They can even share files because of the file-locking mechanisms implemented by NAS. The method of locking is different between CIFS and NFS V3 and earlier, but they do protect users from changing the same data at the same time. The number of users that can simultaneously use a NAS device depends on the capabilities of the NAS (and how big is it) and the network. It's not uncommon to have hundreds in many environments.
