QUESTION POSED ON: 29 October 2004
I am using Oracle to build a data warehouse for an organization that has about 2 TB data at the moment, and most likely more in the future. I don't know how to manage storage for this system -- should I use SAN or NAS?

>
It really depends a lot on your requirements. If there is a need for a high transaction rate, you might want to implement a SAN and work with your vendor of choice for the management of the SAN. If the transaction rate requirement is more modest, you could install a NAS system and the administration would be much less than with a SAN. Make sure that whatever solution you choice, the management software has some visibility for the Oracle database.
