Are there any tools in the market that sniff the optical packets in Fibre? How bout Fibre Channel tools that deal with frames instead of packets?

In short, the answer is yes, there are products that can look at Fibre Channel cable and analyze Fibre Channel frames. Protocol analyzers and tools are available from vendors including Agilent, CATC, Finisar and Xyratex. Some other tools that support Fibre Channel analysis (and might be familiar to a network person) include Ethereal and NetScout. Fibre Channel frames are similar to an Ethernet packet, in that multiple frames can be assembled and transmitted like Ethernet packets containing source, destination, frame header and other information.
