QUESTION POSED ON: 14 June 2004 What does FCP do? What is the difference between FCP, and FC over IP? Why there is FCIP and iFCP?
>
FCP is the implementation of serial SCSI for Fibre Channel. FCIP is a tunneling protocol for FCP over IP networks. iFCP is FCP ported for IP networks. It was originally designed to run on UDP also, but I do not know if that is still supported or not.
