Who's supporting Exchange 2000?
What is the limitation in moving Exchange 2000 database to NetApp filers using FC SAN (in its latest model 940 FAS)and having SnapManager for Exchange 2000/snap drive sitting in between?

Is this setup supported by Microsoft? Also how good or how bad is this interface software, SnapManager for Exchange? Request your expert opinion on this.

I tend to be a firm believer in Netapp's expertise and engineering thoroughness. Like other major storage companies, when they release a solution targeted at a particular technology and opportunity, it has been tested and tried many times. Perhaps Netapp can give you case study information or implementation guides that can help you make a decision.

When implementing, follow their instructions to the letter and everything should be fine. I do not know if Microsoft supports it or not. That wouldn't stop me from using a facility supported by Netapp for Exchange. They are one of the best companies in the business. I say that without having a vested interest in them.

Regards,
Marc
