Q

What does 'sar -d' show: internal drives or all devices?

I'm running Solaris 8 Unix server and NetApp filer. When I do a "sar -d", does the device list show all the disk drives we have on the filers or are the devices listed in the output only the internal drives of the Sun server?
Assuming you are using NFS to access the NetApp filer (ie, unless you are using iSCSI), "sar -d" only shows the internal drives on the Sun box.
