require fiber connections to the servers?
There are SAN solutions based on copper wiring. Although copper is not as popular, it is supported. The distance restrictions are much greater, however, with support for up to 30 meters, as opposed to 300+ meters with fiber optic cabling. Also, I do not know if there are any 2Gb copper products available. Ask the vendors you are considering about their copper options.
