Can I combine a NAS head solution like VERITAS ServPoint NAS Appliance with a virus scan functionality?

Technically, the VERITAS ServPoint for NAS is not a NAS head solution but it certainly appears that way. Yes, you can include a virus scan capability and most NAS solutions today do include virus scan as part of the basic offering. Check a few of the major NAS vendors for their offerings to get an idea of what they do.
