Mirroring data over IP

Storage expert Brett Cooper offers advice on mirroring data over IP.

Is it possible to somehow synchronize a NetApp filer with an EMC DMX2000 over IP?
Yes, one can synchronize a NetApp NAS storage system with an EMC DMX2000 using a variety of products, depending on the environment. In Windows, I would suggest looking at the NSI Software Double-Take product, as it is the leading mirroring solution and it supports share replication/mirroring. You could also use NuView's StorageX, which supports file-based replication and mirroring between diverse storage platforms. All of these solutions require an IP infrastructure to mirror/replicate the data.
