Hi,
We're looking at moving towards a NAS solution and wondering what our options are for storage, backups and DR at different sites. We're looking at using NetApps and want to make sure we're going down the right route.

I'm sure that your Network Appliance salesman or reseller can give you a wealth of information. The distance that you require between remote sites and the performance need to be understood before a recommendation can be made otherwise it would just be guessing. Network Appliance supports clustering over distance so that's an option you should consider. Another option is the SnapVault software with the R100 as a backup (or remote copy) device that may be attractive in your particular application. Decide what your requirements are and then work with your provider/salesman to lay out the alternatives.
