I recently bought a Dell NAS server for my company. The plan was to get the NAS to join my domain and then set up auto archiving so that documents that have not been accessed for at least a year would automatically be moved to the NAS server but would still remain available for recall if need be.

I tried using the remote storage wizard from my Windows 2000 server but only had the option to archive onto DLT and LTO tapes. Am I doing something wrong? Please help.

You're not doing anything wrong. The remote storage target is a device defined for the removable storage manager. Since NAS isn't removable storage, I don't think you can make this work.

You might try contacting Microsoft support and ask if there is a way or an add-in for this. If that doesn't succeed, contact Dell and ask what software they offer to do what you want. You might check out some storage software vendor offerings too such as VERITAS.
