Looking into the future of InfiniBand

What do you see as the future direction of InfiniBand?

InfiniBand will first come out in high-end servers to handle the problem of getting data to high speed processors. There will be some switch to convert it to Gig-E, FC, etc. It will be used for interprocessor communication and maybe even as an interconnect for blade-servers. Whether it turns into a storage connect interface or not is unclear at this time. It would have to get the economies of scale to get inexpensive enough for that to happen. I suspect it will be a while before this becomes clear.
