Well, this really isn't a NAS question but I'll venture an opinion. LTO has three different vendors who guarantee interchange of tapes between them. DLT is from a single source. LTO has a very aggressive and long-term roadmap. The DLT roadmap has not been quite as aggressive. LTO-2 should be available in the second half that will be another step-function increase.
I always like having multiple sources, interchangeable tapes (remember the days of 9-track?) and a competitive environment. But, they are both good technologies and can serve most customers' needs.
